About
Generally when people talk about themselves, it’s more in the context of what they do, their professional achievements, qualification and experience etc. But shouldn’t “about me” be also about ME, the person? Who am I? What are my beliefs and concepts which lay the foundation of my life? What are my fundamentals, my principles in life? After all, a successful therapy session has very less to do with a degree and complex strategies in hands of a therapist and much more with the genuine willingness on her part to be there for the client… to be present in the moment with him/her on his/her own journey. Having said that, I absolutely believe that the importance of knowledge and expertise in the desired field cannot be undermined in any way.
Hi! My name is Dr. Pallavi Gairola and I am a Psychotherapist. I specialize in Counselling Psychology and over the years have been fascinated by some amazing therapeutic healing modalities which I learnt, experienced in my own life and now use as alternate modalities in my practice making it a complete inside out experience. An ex advertising professional, many years ago I switched to a career which I find meaningful every day. Not that my other career didn’t carry any meaning. But I guess the meaning I was personally looking for, was deeper. My life is meaningful when I know I have in some tiny way, been a part of someone’s journey towards change and growth. My life is meaningful when after a long session, I see a smile on my client’s face…when I know that from that moment on, they will not feel as much pain as they felt when they first came in. My life is meaningful when I know that my clients have been able to consciously and with deep understanding, taken charge of their situations and are not anymore enslaved by them. My life is meaningful and all worth, when I know that NOW my client is liberated and has all the inner resources he or she needs to independently overcome any challenge/ issue / problem in the present or future. It is rightly said that when we are passionate about what we do, it’s no more a job. This is not a job for me. This is not what I do just for a living. This is what I believe in. And this is what I will continue to do till my very last.
